Welcome back to the blog, crafty friends! As the leaves begin to change and the air gets crisp, my crafting desk naturally fills with warm tones, plaid patterns, and all things autumn. Today, I am thrilled to share a detailed look at a cozy, textured fall card that is all about celebrating gratitude.
Using an array of gorgeous products, this design brings together classic kraft elements, rich burgundy accents, and a touch of seasonal sparkle.
To create the background, I used the red plaid from the Falling Leaves 6x6 paper pad as my base. Then using the Layered Autumn Leaves stamp set, I stamped a gentle canopy of leaves and acorns across a piece of Kraft cardstock using versa mark ink. This tone-on-tone technique gives the card incredible visual texture while keeping the focus exactly where it belongs—on the central sentiment.
The star of the show is undeniably the large, elegant Give Thanks Shadow Sentiment craft die. I used the shadow layer for from the die and cut it out of the middle of the Kraft panel. From that shadow piece, I die cut the sentiment, which I placed the sentiment over the rich burgundy plaid patterned paper underneath. This creates a brilliant peek-a-boo effect that instantly ties the color scheme together.
Finally, I tucked a pair of beautifully detailed leaves—one striking golden oak leaf and a delicate pinkish-tan leaf—into the bottom corner to anchor the main sentiment. To catch the light, I added a cluster of deep red glitter accents in the top right corner and incorporated the stunning Shimmering Autumn Sequin Mix along the bottom edge for a festive, high-end finish.
