Spooky Cute

Spooky Cute

Welcome back to the blog, crafty friends! Halloween is just around the corner, but who says it all has to be spooky and dark?

Instead of sticking strictly to traditional bright orange and deep black, this card brings in pops of hot pink and soft pastel pink. Combined with heavy black glitter and tiny touches of soft orange, the color scheme feels fresh, festive, and perfectly balanced.

I used the polka dot paper from the Spooky Cute Pink 6x6 paper pad, which I placed on a piece of black cardstock creating a slim black border. The wreath, the star of the card, was created by cutting one wreath from the Christmas Wreath die in pink glitter cardstock and one in black glitter cardstock and layering them together, slightly offset.

Tucked gently into the wreath are tiny paper-pieced pumpkins, little fall sprigs, and miniature skulls for that perfect spooky cute touch. A bold sentiment die-cut from the Happy Halloween Word dies with Shadow in hot pink was backed by a soft vellum shadow layer to make it pop against the dark wreath background.
