Hello crafty friends!
I am back with another Sketchy Sunday with fun products from Kat Scrappiness. Today I used the new Witchy Boo Crew stamp set to start my sketchy scene.
Card Details:
- Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5" (A2 size)
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1:
First, I trimmed a piece of Kat's Color Studio Smooth Bright White Cardstock to 4.25" x 5.5" in size. I then stamped the spider from the Witchy Boo Crew stamp set on my panel using black ink.
Step 2:
Next, I sketched in my scene using a pencil. I wanted it to look like the spider was dropping down from his web in the corner of a bookshelf, so I sketched in the corner and added some books to the right side of the panel.
Step 3:
When I was satisfied with my sketch, I traced over it with a fine tip black marker and erased the pencil lines.
Step 4:
It is now time to color our scene. I decided to branch out this time and use alcohol markers, since I planned on doing some heat embossing and wasn't sure how well it would stick on top of my colored pencils. I used a mixture of different marker brands to color.
Step 5:
To create my main sentiment for the card, I die cut the words "Happy Halloween" using the Spooky Happy Halloween dies. I cut the shadow from black and the words from white and then used the same purple markers that I used for my book to color the words in an ombre. *Note: I originally cut the shadow out of black, but as you could see in the finished card, I have a white shadow. I ended up changing my mind and changed it to white. I had already glued it together, so I ended up cutting the words from the shadow piece to create a frame and just placed it around it. It wasn't perfect, but it worked. :)
Step 6:
Next, I used am embossing ink and detail white embossing powder to add some webs from the Witchy Boo Crew set and a sub-sentiment from my stash to my panel.
Step 7:
I then used a white gel pen to add a white silk connecting the spider to his web. I also added some shiny detail to the books.
Step 8:
I then glued my sentiment to the panel and added some white gel pen detail to it as well. This was when I decided that it needed the white shadow to help it stand out better on the card.
To finish the card, I glued my colored panel to an A2 card base.
