Hello crafty friends!
Today I'm sharing a fun Christmas card that proves cards don't always have to be rectangular! I decided to switch things up by creating this festive hexagon-shaped card, and I love how the unique shape draws your eye right to the snowy rooftop scene.
The adorable Santa boots peeking out of the chimney always make me smile—it's a playful way to add a little humor to your holiday crafting!
How I Made My Card
I started by die cutting two of the largest hexagons from the Stitched Nesting Hexagon Dies. One became the card front, and the second was scored at the top and adhered behind the front to create the card base.
To create the winter night sky, I ink blended dark blue cardstock before splattering it with white paint to resemble falling snow. The stitched detail around the edge of the hexagon adds just the right finishing touch.
Next, I created the rooftop using the Up on the Rooftop Dies. I die cut the roof, chimney, and Santa from cardstock and added glitter cardstock for the snowy accents to give the card a little sparkle and shine.
For the sentiment, I stamped "Merry Christmas" from the Reindeer Games Sentiment Stamp Set using red ink and die cut it with one of the Boxed Sentiment Strips Dies. Layering it onto red cardstock helps it stand out against the dark sky.
Finally, I finished the card with a few of the 4mm Sparkling Clear Solid Confetti to add a little extra shimmer that catches the light like freshly fallen snow.
