Sketchy Sundays with Kelsey! Cowboy Quokkas Friendship Card

Hello crafty friends!

I am back with another Sketchy Sunday with fun products from Kat Scrappiness. Today I used the Cowboy Quokkas stamp set as my focal image for my card.

Card Details:

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5" (A2 size)
Colored Panel: 4" x 5.25"

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1:

I started by trimming a piece of white cardstock to 4.25" x 5.5" in size. I then stamped the quokkas from the Cowboy Quokkas stamp set using black ink.

Step 2:

I then started to sketch in my scene using a pencil, I added a fence, hill, and mountains to the background. Partway through, I decided I wanted some cacti in the foreground, so I stamped the two cacti images from the Cowboy Quokkas set.

Step 3:

When I was satisfied with how my scene looked, I traced over the lines with a fine tip black marker and then erased the pencil lines.

Step 4:

It is now time to color the scene. I used Prismacolor colored pencils. Specific colors are below:

Quokkas: Sienna Brown, Mineral Orange, Goldenrod, Black, 90% French Grey, and 70% French Grey
Cacti: Kelp Green, Apple Green, Lime Peel, Pink, Blush Pink, and Deco Pink
Mountains: 90% French Grey, 70% French Grey, 50% French Grey, and 30% French Grey
Hill: Apple Green, Spring Green, and Chartreuse
Dirt: Yellow Ochre, Jasmine, Sand, Dark Umber, Dark Brown, and Light Umber
Fence: Dark Brown, Light Umber, and Beige Sienna
Red Elements: Crimson Lake, Crimson Red, and Carmine Red
Pink Elements: Pink, Blush Pink, and Deco Pink
Blue Elements: Indigo Blue, Denim Blue, and Mediterranean Blue
Black Elements: Black, 90% Warm Grey, 70% Warm Grey, and 50% Warm Grey

Step 5:

I then trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.25" in size and used a blending brush and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to add some blue to my sky.

Step 6:

Next, I stamped my sub-sentiment centered above the mountains in black ink. The sentiment is from the Hundred Acre Quokka Sentiments stamp set and reads "Any day spent with you is my favorite day."

Step 7:

To create the rest of the sentiment, I die cut "love you" from black cardstock using the Love You Shadow Sentiment craft dies and glued it above the stamped sentiment.
