Sketchy Sundays with Kelsey! Sending Bear Hugs Your Way!

Hello crafty friends!

I am back with another Sketchy Sunday with fun products from Kat Scrappiness. For today's card, I used the Rolly Polly Pandas stamp set as my main image.

Card Details:

  • Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5" (A2 size)
  • Colored Panel: 4" x 5.25"

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1:

I started by stamping the panda in the tire swing from the Rolly Polly Pandas set roughly centered on a 4.25" x 5.5" white cardstock panel using black ink and a stamp positioner.

Step 2:

Next, I used a pencil to start drawing my scene. I added a tree trunk to the right side of the panel and extended the rope to the top of the panel. I then added a few hills. To finish off, I stamped another panda in the grass of the front hill.

Step 3:

When I was satisfied with my scene, I used a black fine line marker to trace over the pencil lines and then erased them.

Step 4:

It is now time to color the scene. I used Prismacolor colored pencils. Specific colors are below:

  • Pandas (black): Black, 90% French Grey, 70% French Grey, and 50% French Grey
  • Pandas (white): 20% French Grey, 10% French Grey, and White
  • Tire: Black, 90% Cool Grey, and 70% Cool Grey
  • Rope: Goldenrod, Sand, and Eggshell
  • Tree: Dark Umber, Dark Brown, and Light Umber
  • Grass: Dark Green, Apple Green, and Spring Green
  • Sky: Cerulean Blue, True Blue, and Non-Photo Blue
  • Clouds: White

After I was finished coloring the scene, I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.25" in size.

Step 5:

To create a sentiment for my card, I die cut "love you" from white cardstock using the Love You Shadow Sentiment craft dies. I then stamped "sending bear hugs your way!" on a white cardstock strip using the Woodland Critters Sentiments stamp set and trimmed it down with my scissors.

To finish the card, I glued everything to a white A2 size card base.
