Pack your bags, because this little feathered friend is ready for a tropical adventure! Today I'm sharing a fun and colorful card featuring Kat Scrappiness' Feathered Friends Stamp Set, Positively Plaid Aqua Paper Pad, and Tropical Hibiscus Flowers Die.
The bright aqua plaid, tropical flowers, and little suitcase make this card feel like a mini vacation on paper. Let's get started!

Supplies
- Kat Scrappiness Feathered Friends Stamp Set
- Kat Scrappiness Feathered Friends Coordinating Die Set
- Kat Scrappiness Positively Plaid Aqua Paper Pad
- Kat Scrappiness Tropical Hibiscus Flowers Die
- White cardstock
- Copic markers
- Distress Ink - Blue
- Adhesive
- Foam adhesive for added dimension
Step 1 — Gather Your Supplies
I started by gathering all of the products and supplies I would need to create the card. Having everything ready makes the process much easier and keeps the creative flow going!

Step 2 — Add the Plaid Background
I began with a white card base and adhered a piece of the Positively Plaid Aqua Paper Pad to the front.
The aqua plaid gives the card a bright, cheerful background and sets the perfect tropical color palette.

Step 3 — Die Cut the Circle
Next, I cut a circle from the center of a white cardstock panel. I then added blue ink around the edges of the circle to create some soft shading and give the focal area a little more definition. The ink I used is shown in the photo.

Step 4 — Add the Stitched Circle
I adhered a white stitched circle into the center of the panel, directly over the aqua plaid background.
The stitched edge adds a subtle detail while the blue shading helps separate the circle from the plaid and creates a clean space for the tropical scene.

Step 5 — Die Cut and Color the Tropical Flowers
Next, I die cut the pieces from the Tropical Hibiscus Flowers Die set and colored the flowers and leaves.
These bright tropical blooms are going to frame the focal images and add lots of color and dimension to the finished card.

Step 6 — Color the Feathered Friends
I stamped and colored the toucan and suitcase images from the Feathered Friends Stamp Set using Copic markers.
The toucan is the star of the card, while the suitcase adds a fun travel theme—because every tropical adventure needs a suitcase!

Step 7 — Build the Scene
With all of my elements colored and ready, I arranged the toucan, suitcase, and tropical flowers on top of the stitched circle.
I played around with the placement until everything was balanced, then adhered the pieces in place. Some of the elements were popped up to add dimension and help the tropical scene come to life.

Step 8 — The Finished Card
I love how the aqua plaid works with the bright tropical colors, while the stitched circle creates a defined focal area for the toucan and suitcase. The hibiscus flowers add the perfect finishing touch and give the card a fun, vacation-ready feel.

Now all that's left to say is…
Toucan take me away! 🦜🌺🧳
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope this tropical project inspires you to create a little getaway of your own!
