Hello crafty friends!
I am back with another Sketchy Sunday with fun products from Kat Scrappiness. Today I used the Reindeer Games stamp set for the focal image of my card.
Card Details:
- Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5" (A2 size)
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1:
First, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4.25" x. 5.5" in size. I then die cut a framed panel using the Kat's Essential Card Builder Dies 3 from some red glitter cardstock from the XL Christmas Faux Glitter 6x6 Paper Pad. I taped the frame to the white panel with low tack tape and then lightly traced the insides of the openings with a pencil to give myself guides for sketching my scene.
Step 2:
I then removed the frame so I could start my scene.
Step 3:
I sketched my scene using a pencil. I wanted this card to tell a story, so each panel has its own mini scene sketched in.
Step 4:
When I was satisfied with my scene, I traced over the lines with a black fine line marker and erased the pencil lines. I lightly erased the lines around each panel so I could still see where I needed to extend my color when I colored the scene.
Step 5:
I then stamped two of the reindeer from the Reindeer Games stamp set onto a scrap of white cardstock.
Step 6:
It is now time to color the scene. I used Prismacolor colored pencils. Specific colors are below.
- Snow: Greyed Lavender and White
- Sky: Sky Blue Light
- Trees: Dark Green, Peacock Green, Grass Green, Dark Umber, Dark Brown, and Light Umber
- Red Elements: Crimson Lake, Crimson Red, and Carmine Red
- White Elements: 20% Cool Grey, 10% Cool Grey, and White
- Reindeer: Black, 90% French Grey, Dark Brown, Light Umber, Beige Sienna, 50% French Grey, 30% French Grey, 20% French Grey, Chocolate, and Sienna Brown
Step 7:
I then fussy cut the reindeer using my scissors.
Step 8:
Next, I used some 1/8" Scor-tape to attach my die cut frame to a piece of acetate.
Step 9:
I then used 1/8" foam tape to make the shaker wells.
Step 10:
To fill my shaker wells, I used the Fairytale Princess sequin mix. I placed a small amount in the center of each of my panels. I removed the backing from the foam tape and placed the frame over the colored panel.
Step 11:
Next, I stamped my sentiment on a scrap of white cardstock. The sentiment is from the Reindeer Games Sentiments stamp set and reads "I was framed! Grandma is fine!" I fussy cut around the sentiment.
Step 12:
I then glued my sentiment and reindeer onto my card.
To finish the card, I glued the shaker panel to a white A2 card base.
