Hello crafty friends!
I am back with another Sketchy Sunday with fun products from Kat Scrappiness. Today I used the Santa's Helpers stamp set for the focal image of my sketchy scene.
Card Details:
- Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5" (A2 size)
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1:
First, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4.25" x 5.5" in size. I then stamped the elf image from the Santa's Helpers stamp set onto the panel using black ink.
Step 2:
I then chose the "Merry Christmas" sentiment from the Santa's Helpers set and stamped it on the banner that the elves are holding.
Step 3:
I then sketched in my scene using a pencil. I added some snow hills, a tree, and Santa's workshop in the background.
Step 4:
When I was happy with my scene, I traced over the lines with a black fine line marker and then erased the pencil lines.
Step 5:
It is now time to color our scene. I used Prismacolor pencils. Specific colors are below:
- Snow: Greyed Lavender, 10% Cool Grey, and White
- Tree: Dark Umber, Dark Brown, Light Umber, Cobalt Turquoise, Peacock Green, and Grass Green
- Workshop: Crimson Lake, Crimson Red, Carmine Red, Canary Yellow, 30% Warm Grey, 20% Warm Grey, and 10% Warm Grey
- Boy Elf: Burnt Ochre, Nectar, Peach, Dark Umber, Dark Brown, Light Umber, 20% Warm Grey, 10% Warm Grey, White, Crimson Lake, Crimson Red, and Carmine Red
- Girl Elf: Burnt Ochre, Nectar, Peach, Dark Green, Apple Green, Spring Green, 20% Warm Grey, 10% Warm Grey, White, Mineral Orange, Goldenrod, and Jasmine
- Sign: 20% Cool Grey, 10% Cool Grey, and White
- Sky: Powder Blue
Step 6:
To make this into a shaker card, I used an A2 Full Front Shaker Pocket. I removed the backing paper from three of the flaps and placed my card front face down onto the pocket. I then wrapped the flaps around it to stick it in place. I then pulled off the protective film from the other side of the pocket.
Step 7:
I then flipped the panel over and added some shaker embellishments. I used Blue Fairydust Sequin Mix, Brilliant Sky Blue Confetti Dot Sequins, and White AB Solid Confetti Mix. I used my tweezers and glued some of the sequins to the sky to fill up some of the empty space.
Step 8:
I then die cut the word "Believe" from white cardstock using the Believe Shadow Sentiment craft die. I used a blending brush and Broken China Distress Ink to add some blue to the bottoms of the letters and glued it to the outside of the shaker pocket. I then sealed the last flap of the pocket.
To finish the card, I glued the whole panel to a white A2 card base.
