Sketchy Sundays with Kelsey! The Smallest Things

Sketchy Sundays with Kelsey! The Smallest Things

Hello crafty friends!

I am back with another Sketchy Sunday with fun products from Kat Scrappiness. Today I use Hundred Acre Quokka stamp set for the focal images of my sketchy scene.

Card Details:

  • Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5" (A2 size)
  • Colored Panel: 4" x 5.25"

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1:

First, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4.25" x 5.5" in size. I then stamped the Pooh and Piglet quokkas from the Hundred Acre Quokka stamp set onto my panel using black ink.

Step 2:

I then sketched in my scene using a pencil. I added a dirt path, some shrubs, and some trees.

Step 3:

When I was satisfied with my sketch, I traced over the lines with a black fine line marker and then erased the pencil lines. I also stamped the sentiment from the Hundred Acre Quokka Sentiment stamp. The sentiment reads "Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart."

Step 4:

It is now time to color our scene. I used Prismacolor colored pencils. Specific colors are listed below:

  • Quokkas: Sienna Brown, Mineral Orange, Goldenrod, Black, 90% French Grey, and 70% French Grey
  • Pooh: Sunburst Yellow, Canary Yellow, and Deco Yellow
  • Piglet: Pomegranate, Magenta, Pink, Blush Pink, and Deco Pink
  • Flowers: Sunburst Yellow, Canary Yellow, Deco Yellow, Dark Umber, Dark Brown, Light Umber, Dark Green, Apple Green, and Spring Green
  • Grass: Dark Green, Apple Green, Spring Green, and Chartreuse
  • Shrubs/Tree Leaves: Peacock Green, Grass Green, and True Green
  • Tree Trunks: Black, 90% French Grey, 70% French Grey, Dark Umber, Dark Brown, and Light Umber
  • Dirt Path: Dark Umber, Dark Brown, Light Umber, Beige Sienna, and Peach Beige

Step 5:

I then trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.25" in size and used a blending brush and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to add some blue to my sky.

To finish the card, I glued the whole panel to an A2 card base made using the new Kat Scrappiness Color Studio Premium Cardstock in the Rosy Glow color.
