Hello crafty friends!
I am back with another Sketchy Sunday with fun products from Kat Scrappiness. Today I used the Hundred Acre Quokka, Pirate Quokkas, and Cowboy Quokka stamp sets for the main focus of my card.
Card Details:
- Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5" (A2 size)
- Card Panel: 4" x 5.25"
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1:
I first trimmed a piece of Smooth Bright White Kat's Color Studio Premium Cardstock to 4.25" x 5.5" in size. I then stamped my quokkas from the Pirate Quokkas, Hundred Acre Quokka, and Cowboy Quokka stamp sets onto the card using black ink. I thought these cuties would be perfect for making a Halloween card, since they are already dressed up in their Halloween costumes for trick or treating!
Step 2:
I then sketched in my scene using a pencil. I added a ground first, then sketched in two spooky trees on either side of the quokkas. I used a cup to trace a circle for my moon.
Step 3:
When I was happy with my scene, I traced over the lines with a black fine line marker and erased the pencil lines. I decided to add some grass and extra pebbles at this point.
Step 4:
It is now time to color our scene. I used Prismacolor colored pencils. Specific colors are listed below. After coloring, I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.25" in size.
- Quokkas: Sienna Brown, Mineral Orange, Goldenrod, Black, 90% French Grey, and 70% French Grey
- Moon: 50% French Grey, 30% French Grey, 20% French Grey, and 10% French Grey
- Trees: Black, Dark Umber, Dark Brown, and Light Umber
- Ground: Dark Umber, Dark Brown, Light Umber, Sienna Brown, and Mineral Orange
- Grass: Dark Green, Apple Green, and Spring Green
- Sky: Black, Dioxazine Purple Hue, Violet, Parma Violet, Lilac, and White
- Pooh Costume: Sunburst Yellow, Canary Yellow, and Deco Yellow
- Cowgirl Costume: Crimson Lake, Crimson Red, Carmine Red, Sunburst Yellow, Canary Yellow, Indanthrone Blue, Denim Blue, True Blue, 30% French Grey, 20% French Grey, 10% French Grey, White, Dark Umber, Dark Brown, Light Umber, Terra Cotta, and Burnt Ochre
- Pirate Costume: Black, 90% French Grey, 70% French Grey, 30% Cool Grey, 20% Cool Grey, 10% Cool Grey, Sunburst Yellow, Canary Yellow, Deco Yellow, Crimson Lake, Crimson Red, Carmine Red, Indanthrone Blue, Denim Blue, and True Blue
Step 5:
For my sentiment, I stamped the words "trick or treat" from the Witchy Boo Crew stamp set and trimmed it out. I then die cut "happy Halloween" from yellow cardstock using the Happy Halloween Shadow Sentiment craft dies. I used a Kat's Crafty Dabber and Wild Honey Distress Ink to add some shading to the die cut words.
To finish the card, I glued the die cut sentiment in the top center, with the stamped sentiment offset underneath it. I then glued the whole panel to a white A2 card base.
