Wishing You Joy on Your Birthday

Wishing You Joy on Your Birthday

Hello, crafty friends!

Today I’m sharing a birthday card featuring the beautiful Birthday for Her Pattern Paper collection. I wanted the patterned papers to be a big part of the design, so I combined several prints with a geometric layout and added some fun candles as the focal point.

Building the Background

I started by using the Essential Card Builder 1 Die to create the stitched frame and geometric sections for the card front.

Next, I selected two coordinating patterns from the Birthday for Her Pattern Paper pad and placed them into the different sections of the frame. Mixing the soft greens, purples, and birthday prints gave the card plenty of color and interest while keeping everything coordinated.

Creating the Candles

For the focal point, I used the Birthday Essential Dies to create three birthday candles.

I die cut the candle bases in white and softly ink blended with green and purple ink. The flames were ink blended with shade of yellow and topped with Sparkling Snow Glitter Mousse to give them a little extra shimmer.

I also added a layer of vellum behind the candles to soften the patterned background and help the candles stand out.

The candles were then adhered with dimensional adhesive for added depth.

Adding the Sentiment

I stamped the birthday sentiment from the Within the Fold: Sentiment Sampler Stamp Set in purple ink.

The sentiment was cut using the Never Ending Rectangle Dies and placed beneath the candles, creating a simple focal area without covering too much of the patterned paper.

Finishing Touches

To finish the card, I added a few gems from the Royal Purple Rhinestone Mix around the design.

The small touches of purple sparkle coordinate perfectly with the papers and sentiment and add just a little extra shine.

I love how this card showcases multiple patterns from the paper collection without feeling too busy. The geometric layout, layered candles, vellum, stitched details, glitter, and rhinestones all work together to give the card plenty of texture and dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and happy crafting!
