Sketchy Sundays with Kelsey! Give Thanks

Sketchy Sundays with Kelsey! Give Thanks

Hello crafty friends!

I am back with another Sketchy Sunday with fun products from Kat Scrappiness. Today I used the Fall Is In The Air stamp set as my focal point for my scene.

Card Details:

  • Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5" (A2 size)
  • Colored Panel: Approx. 4" x 5.5"

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1:

I started by trimming a piece of Kat's Color Studio Premium Smooth Bright White Cardstock to 4.25" x 5.5" in size. I then stamped the wheelbarrow image from the Fall Is In The Air stamp set onto the panel using black ink.

Step 2:

I then started sketching in my scene. I used a pencil to draw in a ground line and then decided I wanted piles of leaves on the ground, so I grabbed the Leaf Pile Critters stamp set and added some leaves. I didn't add any other sketching to this scene because I was planning to use some die cut clouds in my sky.

Step 3:

I traced over the pencil lines with a black fine line marker and erased the pencil lines.

Step 4:

It is now time to color our scene. I used Prismacolor colored pencils. Specific colors are below:

  • Grass: Kelp Green, Olive Green, and Limepeel
  • Wheel: Black, 90% French Grey, and 70% French Grey
  • Wood: Dark Umber, Dark Brown, and Light Umber
  • Apples: Crimson Lake, Crimson Red, and Carmine Red
  • Pumpkin: Terra Cotta, Pumpkin Orange, and Cadmium Orange Hue
  • Wheat: Light Umber, Goldenrod, and Jasmine
  • Sunflowers: Dark Umber, Dark Brown, Light Umber, Sunburst Yellow, Canary Yellow, and Deco Yellow
  • Squash: Mineral Orange, Goldenrod, and Jasmine
  • Stems: Dark Umber, Dark Brown, and Light Umber
  • Red Leaves: Crimson Lake, Crimson Red, and Carmine Red
  • Yellow Leaves: Sunburst Yellow, Canary Yellow, and Deco Yellow
  • Orange Leaves: Cadmium Orange Hue, Orange, and Yellowed Orange
  • Yellow Green Leaves: Dark Green, Apple Green, and Spring Green
  • Olive Leaves: Kelp Green, Olive Green, and Limepeel

Step 5:

I then ink blended the sky using a blending brush and Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Inks.

Step 6:

Next, I die cut my panel using the Stitched Postage Stamp Edge Rectangle die set.

Step 7:

For my sentiment, I stamped "Give Thanks" from the Happy Fall Y'all stamp set.

Step 8:

I then die cut some clouds from white cardstock scraps using the He Is Risen die set. I glued them to my card, trimmed off the overhanging bits, and then added some Rainbow Glitter Mousse on the clouds for some sparkle and texture.

To finish the card, I glued the whole panel to a white A2 card base.
