Hello crafty friends!
I am back with another Sketchy Sunday with fun products from Kat Scrappiness. Today I used the Leaf Pile Critters and Build a Scene stamp sets to create my scene.
Card Details:
- Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5" (A2 size)
- Card Panel: 4" x 5.25"
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
Step 1:
I first trimmed a piece of Smooth Bright White Kat's Color Studio Premium Cardstock to 4.25" x 5.5" in size. I then stamped the bunny and leaf pile from the Leaf Pile Critters set onto the panel using black ink. I also added a tree and clouds from the Build a Scene set.
Step 2:
Next, I sketched in a hill, some shrubs, and another tree in the distance using a pencil. I wanted to show that even with using a scene builder set, you can still add in your own elements to your scenes.
Step 3:
When I was happy with my scene, I traced over the lines with a black fine line marker and erased the pencil lines.
Step 4:
It is now time to color our scene. I used a BG0.4 and B2.6 Olo marker to color in the sky and Prismacolor colored pencils for the rest. Specific colors are below. After coloring, I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.25" in size.
- Grass: Dark Green, Apple Green, and Spring Green
- Shrubs: Peacock Green, Grass Green, and True Green
- Trunks: Dark Brown, Light Umber, and Beige Sienna
- Red Leaves: Crimson Lake, Crimson Red, and Carmine Red
- Orange Leaves: Cadmium Orange Hue, Orange, and Yellowed Orange
- Yellow Leaves: Sunburst Yellow, Canary Yellow, and Deco Yellow
- Clouds: Lavender and White
- Bunny: 50% French Grey, 30% French Grey, 20% French Grey, 10% French Grey, White, and Black
Step 5:
To create the sentiment, I stamped "Jumping in to say hello" from the Leaf Pile Critters stamp set onto a white scrap. I then used the Scalloped Sentiment Strips to die cut around it. I only needed a short strip, so I lined the die back up with the die cut piece and shortened it.
I then glued the sentiment to the panel between the bunny and clouds and glued the whole panel to a white A2 card base.
